The Internationales Begegnungszentrum Göttingen e.V. provides 31 apartments in a quiet neighbourhood for foreign guest scientists at Göttingen's Georg-August-University and Max Planck Institutes. Many university facility buildings and Max Planck Institutes are located within walking distance.
All apartments are very bright, fully furnished, and bed-linen, towels and tableware are provided. Free high-speed internet in all apartments, free parking lots and laundrette (fee) available. Housekeeper and accommodation office on location.
Each apartment has a terrace or a balcony. In the ample outdoor area there is a spacious playground for families. The university sports centre with extensive leisure activities is just around the corner. The nearest bus stop is a two minute walk away. The IBZ is also located close to the forest with plenty of nice walking paths.

All of the apartments are furnished in a modern style. They come fully equipped with kitchen utensils, silverware, bed linens and towels. All apartments provide free high-speed internet and cable TV. Each apartment has a balcony or terrace. Free parking and laundrette (fee) available.

The IBZ offers accommodation for foreign guest scientists and their families for the first time of their stay in Göttingen. Due to high demand we cannot guarantee to meet all requirements, especially in terms of exact moving-in dates.

Activities & Surroundings
The IBZ offers a club house which consists of a large, comfortable room for meetings and general functions, equipped with television and a stereo system. The adjoining kitchen provides the ideal setting for communal cooking and private celebrations. Furthermore the »Gruppe Internationaler Begegnung« (»International Encounter Group«) organised by a women's club of the University and Max Planck Institutes offers German lessons, lectures and monthly social events.
Surroundings
For our guests there is a spacious grassy area including playground equipment, sandpit, table tennis and basketball ring located in a safe area. A play room has also been outfitted for guests with children. The university sports facilities are just around the corner offering all kinds of leisure activities. The IBZ is also located close to the forest with plenty of nice walkways. The nearest bus stop is a two minute walk away.
City of Göttingen
The city of Göttingen itself has much to offer: a wide variety of cultural events, pleasant shopping facilities, and the atmosphere of a city with a long-established and modern university offering public scientific lectures by all faculties. There is also a splendid nightlife with a rich choice of cafés and bars.
